About the Band
The Groove Krewe featuring Jonathon Boogie Long "Blues From The Bayou" EP
The Groove Krewe is a South Louisiana recording group led by writer/producers Rex Pearce (Guitar), Nelson Blanchard (Keyboards/Guitar), and Dale Murray (Other Percussion). Their songs have been in movies, on national TV, and on the radio. They have assembled a group of excellent studio players to compliment their musical contributions to this record. These stellar players are listed in the Musicians Credit Section. In New Orleans, Mardis Gras clubs are known as Krewes. Therefore, they chose to name the group, The Groove Krewe. Their last record, The Groove Krewe featuring Nick Daniels III was played nationally and internationally. The title song, “Run To Daylight” was number one on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Soul Blues Chart. This new CD is more blues oriented and contains radio friendly tunes that are sure to please.
Jonathon “Boogie” Long is the featured artist. He hails from South Louisiana and plays music festival venues all over the world. Jonathon was the 2011 Guitar Center “King of the Blues” winner for the best unsigned blues guitarist in America. His breathtaking guitar solos and dynamic voice have made him a fan favorite. He has shared the stage with B.B. King, Joe Bonamassa, Gov’t Mule, Gregg Allman, ZZ Top, Robert Cray, The Meters, and Kenny Wayne Sheperd. Jonathon Boogie Long is a member of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and received a standing ovation at this year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
