Host Frank Hoppe features traditional bluegrass, old-time and early country music to move your heart and your feet. Legendary artists, from early stars of country music like Hoyt Ming & His Pepsteppers and the Carter Family to contemporary performers like Ralph Stanley and Alison Krauss, are brought to you each week. You can expect to hear something new to your ears, some unexplored facet of this great American music. Whether it's a sixty-year-old classic or a newfound treasure, Bluegrass Etc. has a few surprises for even the most die-hard music lover. Frank Hoppe doesn't just play bluegrass, he lives it. An accomplished musician, Frank plays the guitar, violin, cello and mandolin. He's also an avid dancer, and he helps organize the fiddling and dancing segments of the California Traditional Music Society's Summer Solstice Festival, and has a hand in the organization of local contradances in his "spare time." A renowned musical expert and a highly respected archivist of traditional American music, Frank is an active member in the International Bluegrass Music Association, the Country Dance and Song Society and the Old-Time Radio Conference. Join Frank Hoppe for Bluegrass, Etc. every Sunday morning from 6:00 - 10:00 (Pacific).
