The Unstoppable Little Boogaloo
The Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise ship has docked and Eden Brent has left the on-board Piano room, where she's held court nightly for the last week. Now she's on her way to Memphis for the festivities at the International Blues Challenge, the world's largest gathering of Blues acts.
Eden shows no sign of slowing after an incredible 2010, in which she released a sparkling new album, Ain't Got No Troubles, and earned some of her loftiest achivements to date:
* named as one of Amazon's top Blues releases of 2010
* featured as USA Today's Pick of the Week and NPR's Song of the Day
* interviewed on nationwide broadcast of NPR's Weekend Edition
* reached #1 on the iTunes and Amazon Blues charts
* reached #1 on the XM Bluesville and Roots Music Report radio charts
Eden nominated for three Blues Music Awards
Blues Music AwardsEden's three Blues Music Award nominations include her first-ever nomination for Album of the Year. She's also nominated for the Koko Taylor Award (Contemporary Blues Female) and the Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year Award (for the third year in a row; she won the category last year).
The Blues Foundation has established a Listening Room site with free previews of many of the categories -- you can hear tracks from Ain't Got No Troubles here in the Album of the Year category, and here in the Koko Taylor Award category.
Please consider joining the Blues Foundation and participate! Voting ends the morning of March 1, but we hope you'll get started with your ballot now (you can continue to update it until voting closes).
