The Cash Box Kings’ third release confirms them as among those truly “keeping the blues alive”, particularly the classic Windy City strain.  Harmonica player Joe Nosek serves up both authentic sounding instrumental work and original songs that fit quite cozily into the genre.  He’s aided in the former effort by guitarist Joel Paterson’s equally grounded play and in the latter by the gutsy delivery of vocalist Oscar Wilson.  Strong tracks include “Download Blues”, “Gotta Move Out To The Suburbs” and Mr. Wilson’s subtle take on John Lee Hooker’s “Hobo Blues”.
