Like some not-so-distant relation to the Wainwrights (or the Crenshaws) Dietrich Strause deals out sweet heartsickness distinctively young, American and male in nature.  And laced among the frequent emotional tugs and twinges of the Boston-based singer/songwriter’s thoroughly charming set are touches of sly humor and keen observation.  Orchestrations are particularly well crafted and a propos. Standout tracks include “Lying In Your Arms”, “Pennsylvania” and “Spring Has Sprung”.
