The best blues artists always project personality alongside their skill and Harpdog Brown serves up his tasty old-school blues seasoned with plenty of that elusive ingredient.  The Vancouver-based harmonica ace matches a vocal style as big and brawny as his classic postwar blues styled harp work and seals the deal with his streetwise but congenial persona.  Vintage-flavored new material including “Better Days” and “Cloud Full Of Rain” stand respectably alongside solid covers of Otis Spann’s “Must Have Been The Devil” and the Sonny Boy Williamson-popularized “Bring It On Home”.  Backup is superb throughout and features a guest list highlighted by harp-meister Charlie Musselwhite.
