Shortly after Honor Finnegan establishes herself as a lyricist of considerable agility and undeniable wit, (“Fortune Cookie, “The Librarian”), she takes on touching and troubling matters (“Take Me”, “Swimming”) with as firm a grasp.  The Chicago native proves herself a sturdy and versatile vocalist as well, whether singing it straight or applying the appropriate tongue-in-cheek theatrics when called for. A lengthy residence in Ireland may account for the Celtic credibility of “Stark as Stone”.  Humor returns with the gospel-charged “In Bed”. Fresh fare all around.
