GHOST JAZZ TRIO STORY

AMBIENT JAZZ MUSIC

A San Diego based band, the Ghost Jazz Trio inception was the vision of James Morgan the founder, composer and musical director.

James is a San Diego Music Awards nominated Jazz artist, and former understudy of Bill Connors of Chick Corea's Return to Forever band with over 45 years of guitar playing under his belt. Having navigated through many genres of music including, Jazz Rock Fusion of the 70s influenced Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report and RTF genre of music, James has explored the ever changing and evolving Jazz genres. As of late, James decided to venture into the more traditional aspects of Jazz writing original compositions with hints of Pat Metheny, Wes and Benson. James decided to create what he calls "Ambient Jazz"

James says "Why beat a dead horse" and play the typical Jazz standards and classics that schooled and traditional Jazz players have already done for decades. James decided to create his own genre of Jazz and compose songs that are original and refreshing to the listener. James is a self taught musician, playing by ear, learning from and listening to his influences.

His latest album "Invisible Time" embodies the vision and sounds that he has aspired to create in the "Ambient Jazz" genre.
