About the Band
THE ANDY ROTHSTEIN BAND
Blend the energy of rock with the complexity of jazz and the dynamics of blues and you just might end up with a unique style. New Jersey based guitarist Andy Rothstein’s unique musical voice can be attributed partly to his diverse musical influences, and party to the various electronic modifications that he has developed for guitars.
Andy first began playing guitar at age 14. He graduated from Rutgers University, majoring in music and computer science, and he studied privately with Kevin Eubanks, Ted Dunbar, Steve Khan and Vinnie Zummo.
Andy has released 3 highly acclaimed recordings as a leader. His most recent release Truth Against the World (2022) spent over a year on the Roots Music Report Jazz charts, finishing #1 in the Top Fusion Album Chart for 2022.
On Truth Against the World, Andy teamed up with an all-star cast of musicians including bassist Tony Senatore (Rook, Genya Raven), Trumpeter Steve Jankowski (Nile Rodgers & Chic, Chicago, Blood, Sweat &Tears), Drummer Tom Cottone (Randy Brecker, One More Once, Glen Burtnik) Saxophonist Kenny Gioffre (Smokey Robinson, Blood Sweat & Tears), Vocalist Audrey Martells (Nile Rodgers & Chic) and Keyboardist D Pappas (Smokey Robinson).
In 2025, Andy followed this success with the single "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue." The instrumental Dylan cover had a dominant run, spending 14 consecutive weeks at the #1 position on the Roots Music Report's Top 50 Jazz Song Chart and becoming a major national hit.
Following the 14-week #1 run of his single "It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue" on the Roots Music Report Jazz Song Chart, guitarist Andy Rothstein returns with the high-octane fusion of "Circuit Breaker". This achievement follows the band's 2022 album, Truth Against the World, which finished as the #1 Top Fusion Album for the year on the Roots Music Report chart.
"Circuit Breaker" aims squarely for the classic Crusaders vibe meets the guitar wizardry of Andy Rothstein, the track blends sophisticated horn arrangements with a driving, guitar-led energy. Produced and co-written by Steve Jankowski, "Circuit Breaker" features a powerhouse ensemble including Steve on trumpet and trombone, Ken Gioffre on saxophone, Tony Senatore on bass, Tom Cottone on drums, and D Pappas on keyboards.
Rothstein’s guitar work offers a melodic voice that bridges the gap between contemporary jazz and blues-rock dynamics, cementing his place as a distinctive voice in modern jazz fusion.
