About the Band
The John McCloy Band is melodic groove rock with Beatlesque twists, focusing on groove, ear-worm hooks and introspective lyrics. John (vocals/guitars) signed to Victory/Polygram with Ten Inch Men (along side David Bowie/Tin Machine) in 1992, and toured opening for Bon Jovi and Extreme just as Nirvana and grunge changed the polarity of rock radio. The label's philosophy changed with that tide and they parted ways. Preceding that, John had cut his teeth playing the clubs on the Sunset Strip and unknowingly crossed paths many times with his bass-playing bandmate, Sammy Burke. When Sammy isn't touring with tribute band Fooz Fighters, he is a fixture in the hot L.A. jam scene, playing the Lucky Strike and Viper Room jams in Hollywood on a regular basis. Berkelee graduate Roel Kuiper, also from Ten Inch Men, holds down the pocket with influences of Jeff Porcaro and Neil Peart. Their April 2017 debut release is now out in every major digital store and streaming service today and they are looking forward to getting it out on the air.
