About the Band
Elías Krell is a queer and trans Latinx singer songwriter who writes wistful and witty songs in Spanish and English. Born in Germany and living in England, Greece, México, Honduras, and the U.S. as a child, Elí’s music draws from North and South American pop and folk, bepop and gypsy jazz, street and classical music. Their first studio recording, entitled “As Eli” (2017), was produced by Paul Antonell, and features twelve diverse originals and two surprising covers, one an Argentinean song made popular by Chavela Vargas, the other by Chip Taylor and Billy Vera. Elí tours actively in the Americas and is currently based in rural Vermont and New York.
