Tennessee-based guitar ace Doyle Dykes has released a number of fine albums since the mid 1990s so that’s 25 years of musical greatness by one of America’s best guitarists. Expect nothing but just that much greatness on Doyle’s 2020 album appropriately called Full Circle. Doyle’s Guild, Martin, Olson and Ovation guitars are put to good use on the 12-track Full Circle CD, which features a mix of original and cover tracks, mostly instrumental but vocal covers too, all performed on solo acoustic guitars by Doyle. The opening track “La Certeza” (The Certainty) is a perfect driving track to introduce the true power behind Doyle’s guitar prowess. Fans of guitar icons and self-contained guitar gurus like Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy and Les Paul will want to hear Full Circle, not only for Doyle’s powerful acoustic guitar style but also for his own compositions and his impeccable choice of acoustic guitar covers that mix in music from icons like The Traveling Wilburys, The Byrds, Supertramp, Dire Straits, Tom Petty and much more. Full Circle is a bold guitar statement from the always impressive Doyle Dykes.
