A thread of quiet urgency runs through Lynne Hanson’s songs. A constant that informs the character of each decidedly solitary tale. Just as reliable in the Ottawa-born singer/songwriter’s craft are appealing choruses and underplayed vocals that let her lyrics do their work. In addition to the infectious, haunting title track, “This Too Shall Pass” and the dark and disturbing “Good Intentions” stand out.
