Formed in 2010, Mississippi-based bluegrass band Magnolia Drive take a classic, traditional sound and melds it together with solid contemporary drive. In 2011, they released an EP with six songs for promotional purposes, and now they are associated with the highly regarded Mountain Fever record label. The band includes Steve Nowell (bass, vocals), Don Robinson (banjo, vocals), Mike Nowell (guitar, vocals) and Cory Burton (mandolin). Special guests on Timeless include Glen Harrell (fiddle) and Tim Hathorn (Dobro).

Magnolia Drive has virtually showcased their brand of “Mississippi Bluegrass” for the IBMA.  With their many years of combined performance and recording experience, Magnolia Drive delivers hard-driving, contemporary/traditional blended bluegrass, tasteful instrumentation, smooth vocals, and energetic performances. With standout songs like Randall Hylton’s “Lonely Side of Goodbye” and Tommy Collins’ “The Girl on Sugar Pie Lane,” the band is sure to turn some heads as their arrangements emphasize taste, timing, technique, tone and themes we come to love in bluegrass music.

Several original compositions capture the ethos of the genre in offerings like “Going Back in Time,” “I Will Always Be with You,” “Mountain Rose,” “Sweet Country Girl” and “Walk the Way You Talk.” Magnolia Drive taps the country repertoire with a cover of Buck Owens’ “Your Tender Love and Care,” and a spiritually-infused gospel cover, Dottie Rambo’s “It's Me Again Lord.” Their penchant for a variety of savvy material results in a tasty set of bluegrass about life, love, loss, home, family and faith.
