Guitarist Mike Eldred augments his trio’s no-nonsense blues-‘n’-boogie identity with a range of roots-bound sounds & styles.  Burners such as “Hunder Dollar Bill”, “Kill My Woman” and “Sugar Shake “ are stacked alongside the gospel-charged choral piece “Somebody Been Runnin’”, a quiet acoustic/pedal steel duo “Roadside Shrine” and a most muscular take on the Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love”.  The show stealer here, however, may be the tasty Tex-Mex seasoned “Bess”, featuring accordion from Los Lobos’ David Hildalgo.  Guest axeman Robert Cray heats up the moody title track.
