While streaks of Ronstadt are evident in the sweet, strong delivery of this Northern Ohio singer, Ms. Brown clearly fashions her own identity over the course of this all-original set. Comfortable and pleasing as she sounds in traditional country mode, Ms. Brown blends her splendid vocal chops with a flair for ballad crafting that takes her into fresh and varied regions.  Bandmate bassist Bill Watson contributes the swinging leadoff track, “As We Speak”.  Other standouts include Ms. Brown’s “Adam and Helen”, “Just Words” and “Peace in The Valley”. Backup is solid.
