Jeremy Nail’s slinky guitar-based songs weave in and out of subdued textures on this 11-song album that hums along as one long sad song.  The title track, and others like “Dreams,” “Down to the Ocean,” “Only Love” and “Tell What Else You Got” evoke a laid-back subtle feel of contemplation, not unlike the early work of fellow Texas songwriter J.D. Souther, whose vocal abilities Nail shares, but with simpler chords, heavy on the vibrato to add a cosmic element. That’s the predominant vibe throughout, the quiet guitar strummer contemplating the universe, inviting us along for the slow ride.
