Joanne Rand’s singularly evocative vocals can indict, console or reflect with equal intensity.  Notions of ceaseless conflict- “Little People’s War”, family- “Where The Waters Flow” and congenial social rebellion- “Humboldt To The Bone”, get vivid readings courtesy of the Northern Californian’s formidable vocal range.  Graceful piano and acoustic guitar touches, and strategic vocal multi-tracking highlight the first-rate production.
