Stucky is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and mandolin player based in Nashville. With solid accompaniment of John Moore and Dennis Caplinger, this is a strong debut album for Stucky who demonstrates proficiency for multiple genres to define his Americana. His voice is distinctive, and his songwriting offers a nice storytelling flair with originals like “Movin’ To Mexico” and “Holdin’ Back the Rain” and “Old Habits Never Die,” the latter being a driving bluegrass song that also features Caplinger's banjo. Stucky grew up in Colorado, and his eclectic musical interests and direction remind me of a young Tim O’Brien. Arrangements are lean and clean on this album, and it’s a fine introduction to the talented Erik Stucky and his music. (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
