Any of Bill Carter’s own songs and collaborations would take well to expanded, smartly arranged instrumentation.  But the bare-bones solo approach that the widely covered, Austin-based singer/guitarist uses here only magnifies the strength of his performance chops and the songs themselves.  Rock-solid blues-anchored fare including “Crossfire”, “Willie The Wimp” and especially “Eva Bible” stand out as do the lyrically graceful ballads “Anything Made of Paper” and “Paris”.
