Rebecca Angel’s “What We Had” is an enchanting debut that showcases her distinctive, mesmerizing voice. Recently graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Vocal Jazz Studies, the 22-year-old is poised to make her mark with performance and recording. Collaborating with a cohesive jazz ensemble, she presents an eclectic set of music ranging from breathtaking ballads to hushed, closely harmonized Latin-flavored originals to funky, bluesy numbers and scat-singing. The EP album offers radio and electro mixes of “Stand By Me,” as well as a radio and Ipanema remix featuring first-ever vocals in Marcos Valle’s 2005 instrumental hit, “Jet Samba.” Rebecca Angel clearly has a lot of talent and the ability to successfully execute various tonal and rhythmic colorings in her music as she explores and develops her signature sound and fan base.  (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
