Playing guitar and flying are two big passions of Vinny Raniolo. Expertly accompanied by Elias Bailey on bass, proficient guitarist Vinny Raniolo has chosen a cute theme for his solo album. Opening with “Come Fly with Me,” the rest of the fifteen songs take us to blue skies, home, Rio, the moon and even “East of the Sun (and West of the Moon).” Fortunately, we don’t encounter turbulence along the way, and the skies are friendly. Raniolo has collaborated with other guitarists in the past, but he’s firmly in command as the pilot here. And Bailey shows great affability in their musical conversations. Both musicians get beautiful tone from their instruments, and they demonstrate masterful technique. Standards like "Stardust,” "Skylark" and “Fly Me to the Moon” are given their personalized treatment, as are "Air Mail Special" and “Nuages.” (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
