With pipes tailor-made for old-school soul & r&b, Gracie Curran smolders & sears her way through the title track here, daringly using a slow tempo, setting the listener up for a powerhouse chorus that leaves a lasting impression.  Following up, with the wistful, acoustic-fronted “Ernestine” and a raucous trad jazz/jump hybrid, “Stay Up”, the Memphis-based vocalist shows a penchant for variety that continues through this brief, tasty set.  Other tracks of note include “Sweet Sativa” and “If Mama Ain’t Happy”.
