Argentine composer, bassist, and ethnomusicologist Laura Camacho has earned praise from Grammy Award-winning bassist Pablo Aslan as "one of the movers and shakers in the US tango scene", and Todo Tiempo Pasado, released in late 2025 under her group Laura Camacho Tango Project, makes clear why. Now based in Austin while pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Texas, Camacho is an artist who carries tango's history in her bones while refusing to be confined by it. Featuring Latin GRAMMY® nominated pianists Emiliano Messiez and Ariel Pirotti, this 10-track release demonstrates that tango, in the right hands, remains one of the world's most restlessly inventive musical forms.
The album ranges freely across folk, classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary tango, each track arriving on its own terms. Camacho’s original works, the passionate title track and the

Jennifer Lyn’s vocals, roof-raising when called for, provide the necessary propulsion for the delivery of an exuberant and very satisfying “live” set. Standing out in the solid backup band is the lead work of guitarist Richard Torrance. Tracks of note include the leadoff “Breaking Chains”, “’59 Cadillac” and the pairing of Lyn’s & Torrance’s “Light The Fire” with Led Zeppelin’s “When The Levee Breaks”.

The Good Reverend once again shows his shamanistic slant on roots music; drawing up deep, elemental energy in the service of traditional blues & spiritual fare as well as simpatico originals and likely-unexpected cover choices. Not to be missed are the Rev’s takes on “Jesus on the Mainline”, “In My Time of Dying” and his own “Pure Religion”. In addition to his consistently haunting vocals, sure-fingered fretwork is found throughout.

Although it might not be as obvious to the masses of music fans still comparing all of today’s music to the sounds of the 1960s, ‘70s and ’80s, the best of the new 21st century rock albums can indeed borrow from multiple decades yet still manage to sound remarkably vital.
A good case in point is Venezuelan born / South Florida-based Jose Roman Duque (aka: Jorodu) who gained notice last year by way of his drumming on the 2025 release of Echoes Of Tomorrow by World Beat / instrumental fusion guitarist Randy Armstrong. Turns out the sound of Jose’s 2026 album, released under the name Jorodu, The Hummingbird Conspiracy does in fact transcend decades of stylized rock and comes up a new and different kind of sound.
With its 8 songs, clocking in at 49 minutes, THC isn’t some conventional music tribute to the early 1970s

Review
Smooth jazz combines with a variety of Americana themes on American Heartland, the 2026 album by Missouri native and guitar virtuoso / composer Todd Mosby. Backed up by a range of top session musicians, including the legendary Tom Scott, bass ace Michael Manring and drum master Vinnie Colaiuta and others, the 12-track, 48 minute album merges a variety of guitar instrumental styles including original jazz, New Age, World Beat plus a pair of timeless covers. Shared vocals featuring a pair of appealing female singers adds extra jazzy groove and sizzle to this mostly chilled guitar-centric affair.
The album cover art for American Heartland finds the guitarist in a pastoral locale which might infer a kind of New Age setting, yet the album brings together a wealth of guitar genres with a crossover effect that gives it an even wider, inclusive appeal. Although not prevalent on this new
